[Personally, G'raha thinks Maeve should know that Val would be uncomfortable with that kind of affection, he certainly does, but he also understands the excitement of finding her again after so long, and how easy it can be to forget that missing memories can influence how somebody feels about you. It's not as though he's holding himself up as the perfect standard of 'how to treat your missing family who doesn't remember you', given that he's taken the route of just not saying anything]
